The 2025 Oscar Predictions

The Oscars are airing on March 2nd and there is speculation on which actors and movies will win the Academy Awards.

“Anora”, a tragic love story, has a 66% probability of winning Best Picture. Anora previously claimed the top honors at the Director’s Guild of America (DGA), and Producers Guild of America (PGA). Traditionally, a film winning both the DGA and PGA has exhibited to be an indicator of an Oscar award. Variety’s “Big Six” list features movies with a strong possibility of winning Best Picture.

Following from top film nominees to leading performances, will it be Moore or Madison? The New York Post displays Demi Moore (The Substance) having a 70% probability of winning Best Actress.

Mikey Madison (Anora) follows up with a 37% chance of winning, according to The New York Post. This marks the first time all five Best Actress nominees have also been nominated for Best Picture.

The Independent justifies Moore as the undisputed winner for Best Actress.

“Moore just stomps all over her fellow nominees when it comes to sheer risk in ‘The Substance,’” said The Independent. “She is both vulnerable and ferocious.”

The Hollywood Reporter highlights Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain) with a strong likelihood of winning Best Supporting Actor with Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez) as Best Supporting Actress.

The Daily Herald anticipates Adrien Brody (The Brutalist) to win Best Actor, having previously won in 2002 for the “Pianist.” Nonetheless, if Brody doesn’t secure the category, it could pave the way for a new winner, Timothée Chalamet, who has never secured an Academy award despite being a consistent runner-up.

The Times has consistently emphasized Brady Corbet  (The Brutalist) to win Best Director. Despite Anora securing both the DGA and PGA, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) showed  Corbet, outshining Sean Baker (Anora).

“Conclave” and “A Complete Unknown “ are competing for Best Adapted Screenplay, with “Conclave” leading by 13%, according to Vanity Fair.

“Wicked” stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were announced to perform at the 2025 Oscars. Doja Cat, Lisa (Blackpink), Queen Latifah, and Raye will also be making star appearances! Conan O’Brien will host the Academy Awards at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.

The Oscars will stream on Hulu.
